stocked newsagent/licensed grocery store (Mace) in Aultbea village,
approximately 1 mile from Willow Cottage.

In Aultbea, there is
also a Post Office, garage, butcher, and 2 local craft shops.

More shops are to be
found in Gairloch, some 12 miles to the south.

Many shops in the
Highlands are closed on Sundays, so basic shopping can
be purchased on your request ready for your arrival. Please ask at the
time of placing your booking.

There are 2 hotels in
Aultbea village, approximately 1 mile from Willow Cottage.

Another 2 hotels are
to be found in Poolewe, just 7 miles to the south of Aultbea.

Good food and
traditional real ale can be obtained from the
Old Inn at Charlestown,
Gairloch, just 12 miles to the south of Aultbea.

The
Gille Dubh Bookshop & Restaurant at Inverasdale is run by local
author, Nicola Taylor, and provides excellent food served in the unique
surroundings of a converted crofter's cottage.

The inns at
Applecross
and
Shieldaig have deservedly won reputations for their excellent
food. The
Badachro Inn is also well worth investigating, both for food
and Real Ale.

Further south, nearer
to Lochcarron, the Kishorn Seafood Bar is well worth a visit if you
enjoy seafood.

There is a branch of the Bank of Scotland in
Gairloch (12 miles away) with an Autoteller (Cashpoint) machine.

There is a Post
Office in Aultbea, and another in Gairloch.

There is a daily
(weekdays only) bus service between Aultbea and Inverness.

Willow Cottage is situated in the little hamlet of
Ormiscaig on the outskirts of Aultbea, on the west coast of
the Scottish Highlands, some 75 miles WNW of Inverness and
12 miles north of Gairloch.

From Inverness,
take the A9 to the Tore roundabout, then the second exit on to the
A835 towards Ullapool.

At Braemore
Junction, some 12 miles south of Ullapool, turn left on to the A832
to Aultbea - approximately 30 miles.

There is no
direct rail link to Aultbea.

The nearest railway station is located
at Strathcarron (approximately 62 miles from the
apartment) on the Inverness/Kyle of Lochalsh line.

There is a regular daily service from Inverness
to Kyle.

There is a daily
(weekdays only) bus service between Aultbea and Inverness. For bus

The nearest airport is at Inverness (Dalcross),
approximately 8 miles east of Inverness.

There are bus services from
the airport into the city centre.

airport.

Lochbroom Filling Station (tel. 01854 612298) in Ullapool.

national car hire companies have branches in Inverness and/or at

Gairloch has a superb golf course situated
close to the beach, with excellent sea views. Visitors are welcome. See

Loch, river, and sea fishing are all available in the
area.

Aultbea and the whole surrounding area is a paradise for
those who enjoy walking, whether it be for just an hour's gentle stroll,
or alternatively a more adventurous day's hill walking.

We regret that no
pets are allowed in the apartment.

For the benefit of other
guests,
we do not allow smoking in the apartment.

In order to make a confirmed booking, we need to have a
completed Booking Form together with a cheque payment for a deposit of
20% of the cost of your holiday.

The balance of the payment for your
holiday is then payable 6 weeks before the start of your holiday.

If the
start of your holiday is less than 6 weeks away at the time of booking,
we need payment in full with your Booking Form.

In the event of cancellation, payments (other than the deposit) will be
refunded only if we are successful in re-letting the week(s)
you have booked.

It is therefore wise to effect appropriate holiday
cancellation insurance to protect against unforeseen circumstances.

Please note that cancellation insurance is
not included with your
holiday. As a small business, current financial services'
regulations mean that it is not feasible for us to offer this
cover but it should be readily available from your insurance
company or insurance broker.

If you do have to cancel your holiday after the
full balance has been paid, you are advised to inform us as soon
as possible in writing to
maximise our chances of re-letting (and therefore of being able
to make at least a partial refund to you).

We regret that we are unable
to accept payments by credit or debit card. However, most credit
card companies now offer the facility of credit card cheques and
you could certainly use one of those to pay for your holiday.

Willow Cottage Apartment has 2 bedrooms and will sleep
4 to 5 people.

There is ample
off-road parking space adjacent to the apartment.

The apartment has
electric central heating with
radiators in each room.

There is also an electric fire in the sitting
room.

Electricity for the heating is included in
the prices.

The cost of electricity is included in the price
for the apartment.

Bed linen is provided and is included
in the price for the apartment.

Towels are also provided and
included in the price for the apartment.

The fitted kitchen is well equipped with electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer,
and the usual small kitchen appliances.

There is a washing machine, ironing board and iron.

The bathroom has a bath with electric shower over.

There is an electric shaver point in the bathroom.

There is a colour TV
and a video in the sitting room.

There is no telephone in the apartment.

Mobile phones operating
on O2 (formerly
Cellnet) or Vodafone work quite well in Aultbea and in
many parts of the surrounding area.

There is also some coverage for Orange.

Most other mobile networks are not
catered for as of yet.
